Most telematics arrives designed for European winters and American compliance, then gets an Arabic stylesheet. Four things we did differently.
- Tested at 52°C
- Every unit is soak-tested above the worst afternoon the Kingdom produces. Adhesives, batteries and SIM housings fail in that heat long before the electronics do, which is where the design effort went.
- Long-haul aware
- Riyadh to Jeddah is 950 km with real dead zones. Units buffer positions offline and backfill the gap on reconnect, so the trip replay has no holes in it.
- Arabic-first for drivers
- The driver app is Arabic by default, with Urdu and Hindi available. A safety alert nobody reads is not a safety feature.
- Wasl and TGA reporting
- Registration is part of onboarding rather than a project you run afterwards, and the exports match the format the Transport General Authority expects.

What operators got out of it

The in-cab warning does most of the work. By the time a driver reaches coaching there is usually nothing left to coach.

How long does installation take?
The OBD unit takes under a minute and the driver can fit it. Hardwired units take about 45 minutes with a certified fitter, and our team comes to your yard on your shift pattern rather than asking you to release vehicles. A 200-vehicle fleet is typically live inside two weeks.
Does Saqr handle Wasl registration?
Yes. Registration is part of onboarding — we submit the vehicle and unit details and confirm the link is active before we hand the account over. Reporting exports are formatted for what the Transport General Authority asks for.
What happens where there is no signal?
The unit keeps recording and stores positions locally, then backfills them when it reconnects. A trip through a dead zone replays as a continuous line rather than a gap, which matters when the gap is the part someone is asking about.
Can we keep our existing hardware?
Often. We support the common protocols used by units already fitted across the Kingdom, so mixed fleets can migrate gradually instead of in one weekend. Send us the model numbers and we will tell you honestly what carries over.
Who owns the data?
You do. It stays in the Kingdom, you can export the full history as CSV or Parquet to your own bucket on a schedule, and if you leave you take it with you. There is no exit fee for your own records.
What does it cost?
Per vehicle per month on a scale that steps down with fleet size, invoiced a year at a time, plus a one-time cost for the device. Pricing is published rather than quoted case by case.
